PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device for providing means for more reliably switching a monitoring control card on the normal side to operation.SOLUTION: A communication device comprises: a first monitoring control card; a second monitoring control card; and a first notification card. The first monitoring control card performs monitoring control of the whole device mounting a plurality of cards required for communication control. The second monitoring control card has a function equivalent to the first monitoring control card and performs monitoring control of the whole device. The first notification card individually receives failure information showing occurrence of a failure in either of the first and second monitoring control cards and notifies a device in which the failure does not occur of the failure information. The first and second monitoring control cards have a redundant configuration composed of an active system and standby system, monitors a failure in the partner side monitoring control card through the first notification card, and freely switches the active system and standby system on the basis of a monitoring result. |
