<p>A method and an apparatus for buffering and decoding received data in the receiver of a DVB system are provided to perform the buffering of section data in a TS packet unit during MPE-FEC(Multi-Protocol Encapsulation-Forward Error Correction) decoding and perform decoding by processing only data on a TS packet where an error occurs as the data with the error, thereby improving the performance of the MPE-FEC decoding. A method for buffering and decoding a section comprises the following steps of: checking whether there is an error in a TS(Transfer Stream) packet by checking an error detecting flag from the header information of the TS packet(701); searching the header start location of the section by analyzing the header information of the TS packet, and detecting at least TS packet belonging to the same section(705); checking the number of TS packets where an error occurs from the header information and continuous counter information from at least one TS packet belonging to the same section(707); and calculating the buffering position of normal TS packets except the data on the TS packet where the error occurs and buffering the normal TS packets(711,713).</p> |
