PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical power monitor device that has reduced variation of power measured and can accurately identify power of output light of an optical fiber.SOLUTION: The power of light leaked from a side face of an optical fiber F2 is measured with a photodetector 16. At that time, a scatterer 13 interposed between the optical fiber F2 and the photodetector 16 is used for randomization of a propagation direction of light that is leaked from the side face of the optical fiber F2 and incident upon the scatterer 13.
