The method involves injecting a tribological optimized, plastic component for forming an outer contour of a conveyer chain element (12). A hinge element of another conveyer chain element (12b) is insert-molded such that a hinge projection (20) of the former element is hingedly connected with the hinge element by a two-component assembly injection method. A conveyer chain section is transported around a conveyor chain element width. A carrier part (1) is inserted in an injection molding tool (24). Manufacturing steps are repeated until a desired length of a conveyer chain is reached. An independent claim is also included for a conveyer chain.
