<p>Pickling of standard steels using iron(II)ions containing pickling solution, which comprises hydrogen chloride or sulfuric acid without further oxygen-generating or delivering supporting source, and circulated between a storage tank for pickling solution, and a pickling tank (1), comprises oxidizing iron(II)ions to iron(III)ions by passing oxygen-containing gas, preferably pure oxygen gas into the pickling solution. The location and nature of passing the gas are selected such that the passed oxygen is rapidly mixed with the pickling solution, and is discharged from the place of introduction. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for supplying oxygen gas into a iron(II)ions containing pickling solution, for performing the above method, comprising a connection (9) for introducing the oxygen into the circulation, which is arranged downstream to a circulation pump, upstream to a heat exchanger (7), or which is directly associated with the pickling tank.</p> |
