DONEPEZIL-CONTAINING TRANSDERMAL DELIVERY SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A transdermal formulation is provided to enable long-term release of donepezil in a constant rate and to prevent dose dumping. CONSTITUTION: A transdermal formulation comprises a support layer, a drug-containing matrix layer, an adhesion layer, and a release layer. The drug-containing matrix contains donepezil or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and an acryl-based adhesive. The adhesion layer contains the acryl-based adhesive. A method for manufacturing the transdermal formulation comprises the steps of: dissolving the acryl-based adhesive in a solution containing donepezil or the pharmaceutical salt and polyvinylpyrrolidone; applying the prepared solution on a film and drying the applied solution to form a drug-containing matrix layer; and forming the adhesion layer containing the acryl-based adhesive on the drug-containing matrix layer.
