The transmission (10) has a connector (42) that is provided for connecting carrier element (14B) of planetary gear train (14) with ring gear (18A) of planetary gear train (18). The sun wheel (18C) of planetary gear train (18) is connected with carrier element (20B) of planetary gear train (20). The sun wheel (14A) of planetary gear train (14) is connected with fixed element or gear housing (50). Eight forward gears and reverse gears are formed between input shaft (12) and output shaft (22) by engaging different combination of clutches (26,28) and brakes (30,32,34,36).
