<p>PURPOSE: The design of a multi-axis lens for astigmatism is provided to reduce the requirement for rotation stabilization on the design of a torus contact lens by reducing sensitivity about the wrong arrangement of a torus axis for an astigmatic patient. CONSTITUTION: A torus contact lens (100) comprises a contact lens edge (102), a surrounding section (104), and an optical section (106). The surrounding section includes a plurality of alternating concentric rings or bands (108,110,112) and a predetermined suitable stabilization feature unit. The optical section includes a center disc (120) including a refractive spherical surface or circumference components in a nominal circumference axis meridian (114). The individual concentric rings includes a different circumference axis and alternates in order to generate a predetermined axis meridian between a lower boundary meridian (116), an upper boundary meridian (118), or two boundary meridians.</p> |
