PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a Si oxide effectively and uniformly.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a surface treated steel sheet includes a step of forming a surface treated layer having a Si concentration of 1.0% or less within a depth range of 1 μm from the surface of the steel sheet by applying a voltage lower than a voltage of an arc discharge to a pair of electrodes, while using a steel sheet (material 3 to be treated) in which a content of Si is in the range of 0.1 mass% or more and 3.0 mass% or less as a cathode of the pair of electrodes arranged in a liquid medium 2, and by generating a plasma region 7 on a surface of the steel sheet. As a result, a Si oxide formed on the surface of a high Si-containing high strength cold rolled steel sheet or the like can be removed effectively and uniformly. |
