PURPOSE: Per-user contents recommendation device and method are provided to recommend contents reflecting consumption variation by recommending wide range of contents satisfying preference of a specific user based on a contents use pattern of a user group to the specific user. CONSTITUTION: A collaborative user group (CUG) updater (110) extracts contents preference information of each of the entire users. The CUG updater calculates similarity for respective extracted preference information of the rest users except for specific users of the entire users. The CUG updater extracts users having a pattern of contents preference information with a specific user and groups into a user preference information group. A user preference (UP) updater (120) updates and manages contents preference information of the entire users by contents type. A multimedia contents rank module (130) ranks contents included in each contents type by contents type based on contents preference information of the entire users.
