PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact system and method of supporting and strengthening a solar cell unit.SOLUTION: Provided is a solar cell unit 310 comprising: a solar cell; and a transparent casing 310 disposed circumferentially on the cylindrical solar cell. The solar cell 300 comprises a substrate 403 at least a part of which is hard and nonplanar. A back electrode 404 is circumferentially disposed on the substrate 403. A semiconductor junction layer 410 is circumferentially disposed on the back electrode 404. A transparent conductive layer 412 is circumferentially disposed on the semiconductor junction 410.
