PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separator which can separate a substantial amount of oil through the whole structure of the separator.SOLUTION: An oil separator 3 causes oil-containing air flowing into an enclosure 11 to collide with collision plates 34 and 35, thereby separating oil away from air to recover the separated oil. The oil separator 3 is composed of the collision plates 34 and 35 and spaces, and has expansion chambers 31 and 32 having a sectional area that is larger than that of an inlet 14. Each of the expansion chambers 31 and 32 has at least two collision plates 34 and 35 opposite to each other. The collision plates 34 and 35 are provided with buffle plates 34b and 35b projecting toward the opposed collision plates 34 and 35 so as to serve as obstacles to channels. |
