PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably determine that memory effect occurs in a battery.SOLUTION: A determination device for determining memory effect of a battery performs the steps of: obtaining a voltage of the battery 11 by a voltage sensor 15; obtaining a voltage ratio which is a ratio of the voltage to a usable voltage range by a voltage ratio obtaining unit 16; obtaining a current of the battery 11 by a current sensor 14; obtaining an integrated value of the current by a current integration value obtaining unit 17; obtaining a charging rate of the battery 11 on the basis of the integrated value of the current by a charging rate obtaining unit 18; and determining whether memory effect occurs in the battery 11 on the basis of the voltage ratio and the charging rate by a memory effect determination unit 19. The voltage ratio indicates a correct SOC when the memory effect does not occur, therefore the voltage ratio coincides with the charging rate (that is, SOC) based on the integrated value of the current not influenced by the memory effect. The voltage ratio does not indicate a correct SOC when the memory effect occurs, therefore the voltage ratio does not coincide with the charging rate, thereby determining the occurrence of the memory effect. |
