PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device, a character input method, and a character input program responding to diversification of character using mode and allowing each user to smoothly input pictographs intended by the user.SOLUTION: A character input device 1 comprises: storage means for storing a correspondence relation between a reference character string and a pictograph; input means for inputting characters; extraction means for extracting a character string to be extracted, which is a character string in a specific range among the character strings inputted by the input means; comparison means for comparing a second half part of the reference character stored by the storage means with the character string extracted by the extraction means while changing the number of characters of the second half part, and determining matching thereof; and presentation means for presenting a pictograph associated with the reference character string relating to the second half part and stored in the storage means as an input candidate in accordance with a comparison result by the comparison means. |
