The method involves producing an output board (4) i.e. medium-density fiber board, from wood material or wood replacement material, which is planar formed on an upper side (5) and on a lower side (6). The output board is divided into two halves by insertion of a splitting wedge into a middle layer (8) arranged between and parallel to the upper side and the lower side, where each half comprises a planar lower side and an irregularly structured surface of a front side of a furniture board. The irregularly structured surface of the front side is finished by applying a finishing layer. The output plate is made from cleavable plastic. An independent claim is also included for a board.
