PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector which has a superior n/γ discrimination capability, imposes less burden on a signal processing system, and can be used in a high count rate environment.SOLUTION: A radiation detector, having a scintillator 1, capable of discriminating neutrons and γ rays is structured such that a portion of light emitted from the scintillator 1 is directed to an optical sensor 3 via an optical filter 2 and another portion of light is directed to another optical sensor 4 without going through the optical filter 2. The scintillator 1 produces light of A nm wavelength when irradiated with neutrons and produces light of more than two wavelengths including A nm and (A+B) nm when irradiated with gamma rays. The optical filter 2 blocks the A nm light and transmits the (A+B) nm light. |
