PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve usability for a user when multiple pieces of copy control information are mixed.SOLUTION: A recording/reproduction device includes: a recording/reproduction unit for writing digital information, which includes copy control information including both copy generation management information and copiable number information, in a recording medium, and retrieving the data; and a control unit for, when the copy generation management information is subject to information that shows permission of recording of only one generation, recording the copiable number information in the recording medium along with the digital information, and for, when displaying a list of the digital information recorded in the recording medium, classifying the list on the basis of the copy control information and instructing the display. And, the control unit, when accumulating multiple pieces of digital information with different copy generation management information and copiable number information and with an equivalent content in a first recording medium and copying the digital information permitting multiple copies from the first recording medium to a second recording medium different from the first recording medium, notifies a user that the digital information having the equivalent content is present in the first recording medium. |
