The method involves separating a component (4) having content of hydrogen and carbon monoxide added together from 10 to 95 percent by volume from a synthesis raw gas. Decomposition is carried out in carbon dioxide product, acidic gas fraction, residual gas (60) and the component. A two-column process is utilized to carry out a cryogenic gas separation into multiple fractions. The residual gas is returned into a hydrogen- or carbon monoxide methane separation unit such that a lossless methane process operation is performed. The residual gas is conducted over a reconducting compressor (Vr). An independent claim is also included for a gas product producing device.
