The system has multiple connectors (3) for modular connection of rectangular protection plates (1). Two mutually parallel casings (2) are arranged on two sides of the protection plates, and the connectors comprise two parallel stands and connecting latches. A distance between the casings is equal to a distance between the stands and twice as a distance between each casing and an adjacent side edge of the respective protection plate. The casings and the stands exhibit a square cross-section, where a length of the casings is larger than or equal to twice a length of free ends of the stands.
