Automatic slide processing apparatus and method for processing slides

Apparatus and methods are provided for automatically processing tissue samples located on slides, in particular for staining, washing or treating multiple samples mounted on slides. The automatic slide processing apparatus includes a slide support (1033), a reagent support (1300), a nozzle support (1100) and a reagent dispenser (1302). The slide support (1033) is operatively fixed in a given position, while the nozzle support (1100) and reagent support (1300) are selectively and independently movable relative to the slide support (1033).In this manner the reagent, wash and staining solutions are brought to the stationary slides.
