摘要 <p>A powder slush moulding tool 130b having heating and cooling features 140 cast as part of the tool, wherein the tool is created using moulds 100, 110 formed by additive manufacturing techniques, and wherein the tool is further used for making a flexible polymeric soft skin for use in a vehicle interior. A method of making a mould core package to form the powder slush moulding tool comprises depositing a thin layer 14 of particulate material selectively applying a binder 16 and repeating to produce a mould core package having a mould cavity 114. The mould core package may comprise upper 100 and lower 110 (cope and drag) moulds forming a shell sand mould package. A molten material 120 preferably molten nickel-iron alloy is then applied to the mould cavity to form the cast moulding tool. The cast moulding tool is coated with a polymeric material during a slush moulding process to form the polymeric skin. Preferably, a displacement core 140, which may also be formed by an additive manufacturing technique, can be used in the mould cavity to provide an internal conformal reservoir 140 which can be used for heating the cast moulding tool. The mould cavity may be produced having a plurality of recesses which are filled with molten material to form an external control feature (e.g. heat sinks, fins or pins) on the surface of the cast moulding tool. A grain pattern can be etched on the surface of the cast moulding tool.</p>
