<p>A controller for a two-wire serial bus comprises phase modulator to convert n bits of data into a phase position for a first edge of a signal to be transmitted on the bus (i.e. raising or falling) and a phase demodulator to decode n-bits of data in a second opposite edge of a signal received from the bus. For example, when the controller is a master, it drives the rising edge, while if it is a slave it drives the falling edge. A break code is used for synchronization. The controller has a bus driver comprising first and second push-pull arrangements and configured to convert a received signal into power delivery to the controller. The controller provides galvanic isolation via the use of transformers. The controller can be used for clock distribution. Serial buses comprise inter integrated circuit, I2C, serial peripheral interface, SPI, RS-485, Controller Area Network, CAN, and Profibus (RTM).</p> |
