<p>A control system for an X-ray scanner, the system comprising an input arranged to receive an input signal identifying which of a plurality of electron emitters is to be active, and to produce a plurality of outputs each arranged to control operation of one of the emitters, the system further comprising output monitoring means arranged to monitor each of the outputs and generate a feedback signal indicating if any of the outputs exceeds a predetermined threshold. The feedback signal is arranged to indicate which of the outputs exceeds the threshold. The output monitoring means is arranged to compare each of the outputs to a reference signal, and produce a comparison signal indicating whether the output is greater than the reference signal. The output monitoring means is arranged to combine the comparison signals into a serial output. A feedback register is arranged to receive the comparison signals and generate the serial output.</p> |
