[Class 64(ii)] Relates to radiators of the type having one or more elements each consisting of two steel sheets 10 in the form of flat dishes secured at their edges and having two pipe connectors for heating-fluid from a circulating system. In such a radiator, according to the invention, fluid supply and discharge pipes are each coupled to the radiator by means of a pipe-connector comprising an annular hub 1 having a radially extending pipe socket 2 and an annular flange 4 at each end for locating within an aperture of an adiacent radiator element. The connector is rotatable about the hub axis so that the angular position of the pipe socket may be adjusted. The apertures in which the flanges 4 are located and which provide communication between the elements, are each formed with an internal burr or ridge 11 which secures in place a reinforcing ring 12 having notches 13 to permit fluid flow. When more than two radiator elements are used, spacing rings 14 are included, and. when the pipe socket 2 has been rotated to position, end caps 5 are tightened on a stay bolt 15 to secure the assembly. Jointing material 9 is held in position at the caps by concentric ribs 7. The steel sheets 10' are formed with depressions 10a, Fig. 3, to increase the radiating surface. |
