A fast mouse pointer location method comprises determining a contemporaneous location of a pointer in a graphical user interface (GUI); dimensioning shapes within computer memory, and arranging the shapes to meet at a point of intersection; overlaying the shapes proximate the mouse pointer; displaying the shapes for a period of time before hiding them from view; and repeating the steps for different movements of the pointer. The shapes defined may be rectangles, and/or the shapes may be located to the upper left of the location of the mouse pointer. The shapes may different colours and/or fill patterns, and/or may be dimensioned to fill the GUI. Also disclosed are a computer data processing system, and a computer program product for the method. The disclosed invention is intended for use by users who lose track of the mouse pointer, or otherwise have difficulty visually locating the cursor. |
