PURPOSE: A high content ginsenoside Rg2-containing adventitous root cell lines of Panax ginseng, KGC-PG-1, is provided to ensure various pharmacological effects, excellent product yield, and to effectively prepare ginsenoside through culturing the adventitous root cell lines. CONSTITUTION: An adventitous root cell line of Panax ginseng, KGC-PG-1, produces anthocyanin pigment. The cell line has a different amplification pattern from Chunpoong and violet-stem variant in amplification using primers in sequence numbers 1 and 2. The cell line also has a different amplification pattern from Yunpoong in amplification using primers in sequence numbers 3 and 4. The cell line has a different amplification pattern from the adventitous root cell line of Chunpoong in amplification using primers in sequence numbers 1 and 2 or sequence numbers 9 and 10.
