METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EVALUATING PERFORMANCE OF FORWARD OSMOSIS MEMBRANE

PURPOSE: A method and a device for evaluating the performance of a forward osmosis membrane are provided to evaluate performance factors of the forward osmosis membrane while preventing damage to the forward osmosis membrane by satisfying a forward osmosis operation condition. CONSTITUTION: A method for evaluating the performance of a forward osmosis membrane includes the following steps of: supplying induction solution of first concentration to an active layer while the forward osmosis membrane is interposed and supplying water to a supporting layer; measuring the first amount of the water permeated through the forward osmosis membrane during a first preset measurement period; increasing the concentration of the induction solution to second concentration higher than the first concentration; measuring the second amount of the water permeated through the forward osmosis membrane during a second preset measurement period; and calculating the permeability and the of the forward osmosis membrane based on the first and second amounts of the permeated water.
