<p>A slot ventilator comprises an elongate rectangular frame 10 having a rectangular slot. At least one cover 12 connects the frame by a linkage 14 (fig 2a) so that the cover moves from a first closed position (fig 1a) and a second open position (fig 2a). The linkage allows the cover to translate and rotate away from the frame but prohibited from movement in a direction parallel with the slot. In the second position the cover is positioned adjacent to and spaced from the frame and clear of the slot (fig 2b). The elongate direction of the frame and slot are defined by a longitudinal axis 11. The ventilator may be mounted on a wall or window frame. The cover may be partially opened (figs 3a 3c). The linkage may comprise of a cover pivot point (16), a link arm (18) and frame pivot point (20). More than one linkage may be used, and the linkage may comprise of two link arms (18, fig 6) connected at a third intermediate pivot point (22). The pivot points may be a ball joint. Raised projections (15, fig 1c) aid gripping the cover. The cover and/or frame may have a seal.</p> |
