PURPOSE: A system for searching a place based on a case and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to easily and rapidly search for a specific category by not providing a search key for each category. CONSTITUTION: A place information database server(10) stores place information. A display unit(21) displays the place information related to an interest region. An input unit(22) receives an interest place among places related to the interest region from a user. A search engine unit(24) searches for place information for a place related to a case among the places related to the interest regions. The display unit displays the place information for the place related to the case. A transmitting/receiving unit(26) transmits and receives information to and from a place information database server.
