<p>A method of determining the location of a satellite-positioning receiver (130). The method comprises: obtaining (200) an approximate location of the receiver; determining (210) a part of the sky that is occluded at the approximate location, wherein the determination is made using map data (140) describing obstacles which occlude parts of the sky, at a plurality of locations; identifying (220) a plurality of satellites that are visible in a non-occluded portion of the sky at the approximate location; and calculating (230) the location of the receiver using signals received from those identified satellites.</p> |
