PURPOSE: A device for providing communication between a vehicle and an external communication device and a method thereof are provided to effectively manage the vehicle by providing a service to the all external communication devices. CONSTITUTION: An OBD-2(On Board Diagnosis 2) interface(230) of an OBD-2 device(200) connects to a vehicle OBD-2 connector(300). A main processor(220) sets a communication method by recognizing an external communication device(100) and wirelessly transmits data received through the vehicle OBD-2 connector through the communication method of an external communication device. An integrated communication module(210) supports a Wi-Fi, a bluetooth, a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access), and an NFC(Near Field Communication) communication method.
