A method of providing temporary insulation to the inside of a window comprising least one glazing panel 30 received by a circumferential frame 10, the method comprising: aligning an insulating panel 70, conforming to the internal dimensions of the frame and attaching the insulating panel 70 to the frame with releasable retaining means 50, 60 provided on the frame 10, 20. The retaining means may comprise a resiliently deformable member provided along one edge of the frame which engages with an edge of the insulating panel or a first mounting connection which engages between the glazing panel and the frame (81 Fig 3) and a second mounting connection (83 Fig. 3) provided on the insulating panel. A screw member (82 Fig 3) may be used to secure the two connections together. The insulation panel may be polyurethane and have a reflective skin, preferably aluminum. Preferably the insulation is for a roof, for example a conservatory roof.
