PURPOSE: A translation learning device and a control method thereof are provided to perform a composition practice and to confirm the result by repeating a translated sentence and to learn speaking and hearing by performing speech translation from the sentence into a mother language. CONSTITUTION: A translation learning device includes a language selecting key (10), a voice recognizing unit (40), a correction key (20), a storage unit (80), a translation control unit (50), and a display unit (60). The language selecting key selects a starting language and a translation language. The correction key inputs and corrects a starting sentence. The storage unit stores translation data for the translation and inverse translation of the starting language and the translation language. The translation control unit outputs a sentence translated from the starting sentence or a correction starting sentence inputted through the correction key into a translation language through the translation data and inversely translates the sentence into the starting language to output the inversely translated sentence. The display unit displays the starting sentence, the correction starting sentence, the translated sentence, and the inversely translated sentence.
