PURPOSE: A season discrimination method by sensing illumination and a season discrimination device are provided to discriminate a light source according to an illumination changing rate, thereby measuring the lengths of daytime and nighttime without errors due to artificial lighting. CONSTITUTION: A season discrimination method by sensing illumination includes the following steps of: calculating an illumination changing rate by measuring a change in the illumination due to time (S10); discriminating a light source causing the change in the illumination by using the calculated illumination changing rate (S20); and calculating the length of daytime and nighttime by using the kind of the discriminated light source and discriminating seasons according to the calculated lengths of daytime and nighttime (S30).
