PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for providing a multicast service in a communication system are provided to transmit and receive channel status information (CSI) of a multicast service. CONSTITUTION: A control unit (513) determines temporarily a modulation and coding scheme (MSC) level application state in a current MCS level application section using a detection result of a feedback according to CSI of user equipment (UE) that is included in a multicast group. The control unit determines a final MCS level application state for the current MCS level application section using an MCS level application state of a previous MCS level application section and the temporarily determined MCS level application state.
