PURPOSE: A biosynthetic gene cluster for Chejuenolide of marine microorganism Hahella chejuensis is provided to develop a novel material and to present a new direction for studying polyketide-based antibiotics. CONSTITUTION: A biosynthetic gene cluster for Chejuenolide is denoted by sequence number 1. Proteins are denoted by sequence numbers 2-27 and are encoded by the gene cluster. The isolated gene encodes the protein of sequence numbers 2-27. A method for preparing Chejuenolide comprises the step of culturing a microorganism.
