[Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVII] Tubular rivets 33 are used to fix contactmembers 26 and terminals 34 to the base 21 of an electric switch. The under surface of the head 38 of each rivet is normally concave and, when the rivet is compressed axially to grip the sides of bores 42, 43, the flattening of the head imparts resilience. In a modification, Fig. 7, the bore in the base 21 has a counterbore 59 and recess 61 into which the rivet is expanded so as to prevent axial and sideways movement by the rivet. |
