<p>PURPOSE: An application management device for a portable terminal supporting a different kind of guest operating system and a method thereof are provided to download, install and execute a guest application without operating an operating system (OS). CONSTITUTION: A first application management part (110) downloads, installs and executes a first application to be operated at a first OS. Second application management parts (120,130) download, install and execute a second application to be operated at a second OS. If a download request, an install request or an execute request for an application is received from a user in the operating state of the first OS, the first application management part determines the requested application. If the requested application is the second application, the second application management part performs the request.
