PURPOSE: A power controlling method of electronic equipment comprising a multi-core and a device thereof are provided to minimize the performance reduction and power consumption of a system by controlling the on and off of the core through considering the occupancy of the core and the number of tasks on standby. CONSTITUTION: A controlling part (110) includes cores (10-40). A core controlling part (140) confirms the occupancy of the operating core and the number of tasks on standby. If the core occupancy and task information correspond with the on/off condition of a multi-core, the core controlling part controls the on and off of the multi-core. A storing part (120) stores the on and off condition of the multi-core. The on and off condition of the multi-core is differently configured according to the state of the multi-core classified according to the current consumption property of the multi-core.
