PURPOSE: A dummy bar and a continuous casting method using the same are provided to prevent splash of molten metal by temporarily storing and dispersing molten metal into a mold through the upper space of a dummy bar head part. CONSTITUTION: A dummy bar comprises a dummy bar head part(200) and a dummy bar connecting part(300). The dummy bar head part comprises a base portion(210) which is inserted into a mold with top and bottom open and an anti-scattering portion(220) which forms a space for accommodating and dispersing molten metal injected into the mold on the upper side of the base portion. The dummy bar coupling part is formed on the lower side of the base portion in order to apply tension to the dummy bar head part inserted in the mold. |
