摘要 PURPOSE: A device for reducing power consumption by controlling an outputting screen at an electronic device and a method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption by dynamically varying the playing ratio of the outputting screen. CONSTITUTION: A graphic software module (113) classifies an output image into a static image or a dynamic image and dynamically varies playing ratio according to the classified image. The graphic software module configures the playing ratio corresponding to a low frequency when outputting a static screen and configures the playing ratio corresponding to a high frequency when outputting a dynamic screen. If the dynamic screen is varied into the static screen, the graphic software module maintains the screen playing ratio corresponding to the high frequency for a predetermined period of time, before recovering into the screen playing ratio corresponding to the low frequency.
