PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a riding type mowing vehicle that an operator can move by himself or herself in the case of a failure of a controller etc., without increasing in cost much more, and to provide a method of controlling the riding type mowing vehicle.SOLUTION: A riding type mowing vehicle 1 includes: an AC motor driver 32 driving front wheels 11a, 11b as driving wheels; an electric cylinder driver 33 driving a rear wheel 12 as a steering wheel; a controller 34 controlling the driving quantity of the AC motor driver 32 according to a manipulated variable of a pedal (backward movement accelerator pedal 17 or forward movement accelerator pedal 18), and controlling the driving quantity of the electric cylinder driver 33 according to the manipulated variable of a steering wheel 16; and a switching section 35 switching a connection between the controller 34 and electric cylinder driver 33 to a connection between the pedal (backward movement accelerator pedal 17 or forward movement accelerator pedal 18) and electric cylinder driver 33 when detecting abnormality of the controller 34. |
