PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable resin composition for vapor deposition capable of efficiently performing vapor deposition on a base material at low temperature and forming a vapor deposition film excellent in adhesion to an inorganic material film, a resin protection film produced by photocuring the curable resin composition for vapor deposition, and an organic optical device protected with the resin protection film produced by vapor-depositing and photocuring the curable resin composition for vapor deposition.SOLUTION: A curable resin composition for vapor deposition forms a vapor deposition film on a substrate when vaporized by heating in an atmospheric pressure or a reduced pressure atmosphere. The curable resin composition includes a photocationic polymerization initiator, and the photocationic polymerization initiator is an onium salt consisting of a cationic moiety with molecular weight of ≥300 and an anionic moiety with molecular weight of ≥140.
