PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of giving no warning so as not to annoy the driver if the driver is easily able to find an obstacle, and immediately giving a warning if the driver is not easily able to find the obstacle.SOLUTION: A driving support device comprises: a radar sensor; a visible light camera; existence candidate area determining means for determining an object existence candidate area including an object in an imaging area of a visible light camera when the object is detected by a radar sensor; pattern matching means for performing pattern matching of a picked-up image and a predetermined object template in the object existence candidate area; and warning means for giving a warning to allow a driver to recognize existence of the object. In a result of the pattern matching obtained by the pattern matching means, if a matching degree of the picked-up image and the object template is equal to or more than a reference value serving as a guideline on whether the driver is easy to find the object, the warning means will not give the warning. |
