PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which can properly control hydrogen concentrations in a fuel cell during intermittent operation.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 1 utilizes hydrogen concentration measured by a hydrogen concentration meter 60 (measured hydrogen concentration) and the impedance of a fuel cell 40 measured by a controller 10 (measured impedance) to properly control the concentration of fuel gas (hydrogen gas) supplied to the fuel cell 40 during intermittent operation. The hydrogen concentration meter 60 is installed at a position where hydrogen concentration in a farthermost end cell (whole + side) among a plurality of cells constituting the fuel cell 40 in which hydrogen concentration drops most can be detected. A memory 10b has stored therein a hydrogen replenishment flow rate map for determining a hydrogen replenishment flow rate needed to maintain an optimum hydrogen concentration. |
