PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide base paper for a food packaging sheet having excellent thermal insulation properties, and a food packaging sheet including the base paper for food packaging.SOLUTION: There is provided base paper for a food packaging sheet that contains polyacrylamide as a paper-strengthening agent. The freeness of disintegrated pulp obtained by disintegration is 250 ml or more and 450 ml or less. The peak appearing time of a permeating characteristics curve measured with a dynamic liquid penetration characteristics measuring device is 0.3 seconds or later. It is preferable that the base paper for a food packaging sheet has a strength at 5 seconds later in the permeating characteristics curve that is 90% or more of the peak strength. The base paper for a food packaging sheet preferably has at least one glossy surface and preferably has a base weight of 15 g/mor more and 40 g/mor less, a density of 0.5 g/cmor more and 0.8 g/cmor less, and an air permeability of 30 seconds or more. |
