PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrowetting display device and a driving method of the electrowetting device.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a first electrode; a second electrode apart from the first electrode; a hydrophobic layer positioned above the first and second electrodes; a third electrode facing the hydrophobic layer; and first and second fluids arranged in space between the hydrophobic layer and the third electrode and mutually not mixed with each other. The driving method of the display device in which the hydrophobic layer is hydrophobic with respect to the second fluid comprises: a first step of giving first potential between the first electrode and the second electrode to move the first fluid toward the second electrode; a second step of reducing the first potential and giving second potential between the second electrode and the third electrode to move the first fluid toward the first electrode; and a deceleration step of eliminating the second potential, and decelerating a velocity of the first fluid moving toward the first electrode or stopping the movement of the first fluid. |
