PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new constitution capable of obtaining the infrared suppressing performance of an infrared suppressing article.SOLUTION: In an infrared suppressing article 10, a laminated structure 2 formed on a substrate 1 showing visible light permeability and infrared reflectivity is constituted by alternately laminating low refractive index layers 2L containing low refractive index particles and a binding polymeric compound and high refractive index layers 2H containing high refractive index particles and a binding polymeric compound so that at least one of the outermost layers is set to be the high refractive index layer and the sum total number of both refractive index layers become 3 or above. The high refractive index layer in one layer among the outermost layers is set to be a high refractive index layer 2Hir showing infrared absorbing properties containing infrared absorbing substance as high refractive index particles and a binding polymeric compound.
