PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: a sieve device having a cylindrical sieve has a mechanism that sends out powder from an inner area of the cylindrical sieve to the outside area, a large space for recovering the powder that has passed through the sieve is needed; and when the sieve device having a cylindrical sieve is mounted on an image forming apparatus in order to sieve coarse particles from toner supplied to a supply device, the size of the device increases.SOLUTION: A sieve device 100 comprises a blade 131 that rotates in proximity to a filter 122 about a rotation shaft Z that intersects with the filter 122. A direction of movement of toner passing through the filter 122 is narrowed down to a direction of the rotation shaft Z of the blade 131; and therefore, a large space for recovering the toner that has passed through the filter 122 need not to be secured. An increase in size of the sieve device 100 when mounted on an image forming apparatus 1 can be avoided by using the blade 131.
