PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for growing a crystal, which can grow the crystal while forming a large stirring flow in a mixed melt, in a sodium flux method.SOLUTION: This method for growing a crystal uses a sodium flux method comprising allowing a raw material gas to dissolve in a mixed melt 3 and growing the crystal while stirring the mixed melt 3 using sodium as a flux agent, in a crucible 11. The method for growing the crystal includes a process of selecting, as the crucible 11, a crucible composed of a ceramic material having a linear transmissivity corresponding to the size of the stirring flow of the mixed melt 3. |
